  • Is the National Day of Prayer a Political Event?
No. The NDP is not sponsored or owned by any one
group. We are non profit.  We are supported in prayer and financially by giving people like you.  Every American can observe the NDP in his or her own way. Historically, the President and all 50 Governors have issued proclamations in support of
this significant day.  Please step out at your local city hall to cover your community and this great Nation in prayer.

The St. Louis Gateway National Day of Prayer Task Force (Gateway NDP) has many volunteer opportunities.  If you would like to hold prayer at noontime for your local City Hall and/or an  evening gathering, please call 636-541-9961 or email gatewayndp@yahoo.com .  Someone will contact you right away.

  • Is the National Day of Prayer exclusively a Christian event?
Americans of all faiths are encouraged to participate in
the NDP according to their own traditions.  The Gateway NDP organization is the Christian expression of the NDP in St. Louis, and we pray in the name of Jesus.  Everyone is welcome to attend our events.  Our theme for 2016 is “Wake Up America“, emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities, and men.  To further highlight our theme, we’ve chosen Isaiah 58:1 as our Scripture for this year:   “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet.”.

  • How big is the National Day of Prayer?  More than 40,000+ events are typically held nationwide.  In 2015, over 44,000 prayer events were held Nationally and Internationally. Please visit NDP to find the nearest event in your state http://nationaldayofprayer.org/events/  If you are in the St. Louis area, please visit the event page on this site for local events http://gatewayndp.net/events/ One Nation Under God
